Mena and Missy

Mena Alexa Suvari was born in 1979. She is an American fashion designer, model and actor. After a brief stint as a model in the fashion industry before moving into acting when she appeared as a guest on TV shows such as Boy Meets World in the 1990s and High Incident. Her first film appearance was on 1997's drama Nowhere. The performances she made on the film American Beauty, for which she won a BAFTA Award nomination and American Pie led to her being the subject of more interest. She was in the film industry for a year, and was alongside her American Pie co star Jason Biggs. Then, she played the lead character on the film Sugar & Spice (2000). Spun the independent drama that aired in 2002, and the action film Trauma (2004) are the most recent of her appearances. Other appearances on HBO include the series Six Feet Under. In 2008, she featured in several films including Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh as well as the movie adaptation to The Garden of Eden. Suvari is a model in Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she's been in a variety of blogs and magazines, including Vogue. Suvari is a committed advocate and supporter of the African Medical and Research Foundation. Also, she is involved in women's empowerment issues and is associated with groups that help raise awareness about breast cancer as well as the End Violence Against Women Campaign.
